Fort Worden State Park and Conference Center is a 434-acre multi-use park with over two miles of saltwater shoreline and a wide variety of services and facilities. The park rests on a high bluff overlooking Puget Sound. It is located in the quaint, historic coastal town of Port Townsend, Washington.
The Straits of Juan de Fuca connects the Puget Sound to the Pacific Ocean. The highway along the Straits is lined by jagged cliffs and cedar forests and offers peeks at Canada’s Vancouver Island from some of the panoramic views. An easy side trip could include a hike on the trails of the Makah Indian reservation to the Northwestern-most corner of the United States, a stunning, humbling experience.
