Alan Kerner, Board of Trustees
Alan graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 1962 with a major in accounting and finance. Since 1979 he has been President of Container Connection, an intermodal transportation business. Alan was instrumental in the success of the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center of Los Angeles, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, holding Steering Committee, Board, and Financial Advisory positions since 1987. Alan is an initiated shaman in the Huichol tradition of México, has a successful healing practice and is an initiated Fire Keeper and community leader.

Artemia Fabre Zarandona, Board of Trustees
Artemia is native to México and holds a PhD in Social Anthropology. Since 1988 her main work has been in research and in teaching in different Universities in México specializing in the anthropology of religion and judicial anthropology. Artemia regularly conducts seminars and post graduate courses about indigenous rights, cultural diversity and intercultural dialog for legal representatives of indigenous people, lawyers, judges, human rights advocates and public employees. She is an advisor to anthropologists and lawyers in judicial process where indigenous individuals or groups require expertise in their culture, judicial system and values.

Bill Coughlin, Board of Trustees
From Los Angeles, CA, Bill studied Political Philosophy and has an MBA from Harvard Business School. He helped found a charter elementary school in Boyle Heights district of East LA, is a public speaker and has participated on or chaired several boards. Bill’s major strength is in the area of finance. He started in investment banking in Los Angeles, London and New York and is now a Partner at a private equity firm in LA.

Cindy Fogle, Board of Trustees &
Interim Director of Development
Cindy lives in Maggie Valley, NC and holds a Masters degree in Journalism/Advertising and an MBA with majors in Marketing and Finance from Northwestern University. She serves her community as a Sacred Fire Community fire keeper and has been called and initiated in the Nahua weather working tradition. She has worked in Public Relations and Advertising and has extensive experience in Fundraising. |

David C. Wiley, Chairman of the Board of Trustees
As a management consultant in Atlanta, Georgia, David developed team performance models for clients and later became an international trade consultant within the U.S., Canada and México. In the mid 1990’s his path led him to work with both Nahua and Huichol shamans in México. These shamans recognized in David an ancestral connection to their traditions and brought him into years of apprenticeship. He is now an initiated shaman in the Huichol tradition and weather worker in the Nahua tradition. David continues to offer management consulting services, but his primary responsibilities are as a counselor, traditional healer and ceremonial leader to his communty. www.keepsthefire.org |

Gwen Broz, Board of Trustees
From Brookfield, MA, Gwen majored in Psychology and later became a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Gwen is an initiated marakame (shaman) in the Huichol tradition and plays an important community role as a fire keeper for her hamlet. She has had a successful patient care practice for 20 years that now includes deep shamanic healing as well. Gwen was a strong volunteer on a committee that produced a city master plan over a two year period.

Keiko Cronin, Executive Director
From Marina del Rey, CA, Keiko has a BA in Psychology for the University of California (LA). She is a tradition connected healer through a Masters and a license in Traditional Chinese Medicine as an Acupuncturist, a Plant Spirit Medicine practitioner and a Marakame in the Huichol Tradition. She has served in various leadership and administrative roles such as Academic dean of Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine and former co-executive officer for the Blue Deer Center (7 years).
